Coogee Family Medical Centre is an appointment based medical practice. Please book an appointment online using the Hotdoc platform or by giving us a call.
Generally, a standard consult will cover 1-2 issues, if you would like to discuss more issues or more complex concerns please book a long appointment.
Phone Consults - Fees
Phone consults will be privately billed the same as an in-person appointment.
As per the Medicare guidelines, we can only offer phone consults to patients who have been seen in person at the practice in the last 12 months.
Standard Fees
We are a private-billing medical practice and appreciate full payment of fees on the day of consultation. We use Medicare Easyclaims, so the Medicare rebate can be immediately refunded to your bank account.
Billing Information – Coogee Family Medical Centre
Coogee Family Medical Centre is a mixed billing clinic.
We offer bulk billing for in person visits for:
- Children aged under 16 years old
- Pension card holders
- Healthcare card holders
- Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA) card holders
Please note:

Procedures such as Implanon insertion or minor surgical procedures will incur an out-of-pocket cost.

Consultations that cover specific services (e.g., GP Mental Health Plans, antenatal visits, Chronic Disease Management Plans) will also attract an out-of-pocket cost. Further details are available at reception.
For all other patients, standard consultation fees apply for both face-to-face and telehealth appointments.

Consultation fees are based on the appointment type and duration booked in the doctor’s schedule (e.g., a standard consultation is 15 minutes).

For telehealth appointments, while the phone call itself may be shorter, doctors spend additional time reviewing your medical history, preparing prescriptions, and updating notes to ensure safe and accurate care.

Fees for telehealth and face-to-face consultations are the same, as both require the same level of professional time and attention.
